Tarangire National Park is famous for its large elephant herds and impressive baobab trees, some of which can live for centuries. During the dry season, elephants cleverly extract moisture from these ancient giants to stay hydrated. The Tarangire River becomes the park’s only water source at this time, attracting vast numbers of wildlife. It’s not unusual to witness gatherings of up to 250 elephants, alongside many other animals, when exploring with Tanzania Wildlife Voyages.

Lake Manyara National Park is located between Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater, at the edge of the dramatic 400-meter-deep Great Rift Valley. This compact park features diverse habitats that support a wide range of wildlife. With Tanzania Wildlife Voyages, you can explore the vast lake that spans about 75% of the park, drive through lush rainforest teeming with monkeys and birds, and encounter elephants at close range within the scenic woodlands.

The iconic Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s seven natural wonders, was created two million years ago by a massive volcanic eruption. Its rich volcanic soil has given rise to a unique ecosystem, hosting the densest concentration of wildlife anywhere in Africa! Inside the crater, you’ll encounter thousands of animals—from lions and zebras to buffalo and black rhinos—while breathtaking views surround you at every turn. Experience it all with Tanzania Wildlife Voyages.

The final day! Based on your departure schedule, you may spend some extra time unwinding at the lodge before transferring to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your flight back home. Not ready to leave yet? You can also extend your journey with a few extra days on one of Tanzania’s idyllic islands — Zanzibar, Pemba, or Mafia — with Tanzania Wildlife Voyages.
Absolutely incredible experience from start to finish! Our guide was knowledgeable and passionate about South Africa. The Kruger safari exceeded all expectations — we saw the Big Five within the first two days. The wine tasting in Franschhoek was a wonderful bonus.
A well-organized tour that covers all the highlights of South Africa. The accommodations were comfortable and the pace was just right. Victoria Falls was breathtaking. Only minor suggestion would be more free time in Cape Town. Overall, highly recommended!
This was the trip of a lifetime! The sunset cruise on the Zambezi was magical, and seeing penguins at Boulders Beach was unforgettable. Every detail was taken care of. Our guide made us feel like family.
