DAY
🐾 Mountain gorilla trekking in Rushaga (southern sector)

The Rushaga sector, located in the southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, is home to eight gorilla families, some of which are still not fully habituated to human presence. During a mountain gorilla trekking experience, you will hike along challenging forest trails and spend either one hour with a habituated group or, for an additional fee, up to four hours observing the less-habituated giants in their natural environment. This once-in-a-lifetime encounter—watching gorillas eat, play, interact, and remain under the watchful protection of the silverback—will leave you in awe and may even bring tears of joy.

Please note that gorilla trekking is conducted in groups of up to eight people, requires sturdy hiking shoes, and typically lasts between two and four hours. As this activity is extremely popular and requires both a permit and a professional guide, it must be booked separately and well in advance.

Absolutely incredible experience from start to finish! Our guide was knowledgeable and passionate about South Africa. The Kruger safari exceeded all expectations — we saw the Big Five within the first two days. The wine tasting in Franschhoek was a wonderful bonus.

A well-organized tour that covers all the highlights of South Africa. The accommodations were comfortable and the pace was just right. Victoria Falls was breathtaking. Only minor suggestion would be more free time in Cape Town. Overall, highly recommended!
